Music is in our DNA!

During childhood development, music plays a fundamental role – offering cognitive and emotional development benefits to social and physical well-being. Our music programs contribute to the holistic growth and enrichment of each child. Every student is encouraged to explore and express their unique musical identity!

Our classroom is a place where students improve their musicianship, build a sense of belonging
and gain mutual respect. Every rehearsal and performance is an opportunity to celebrate the
collective strength of our voices, fostering both personal and artistic growth.

Our teaching methodology blends traditional vocal techniques with modern pedagogical approaches. We incorporate vocal warm-ups, breath control exercises, and sight-reading practices to develop technical proficiency.

We also offer instrumental bands at NCCS: Ignit Rock Bands, Beginner Band, and Advanced Band. Our students have regular opportunities to perform live at “gigs” around the community, such as the Westminster May Flower Festival.

Live performances boost brain development, improve problem-solving capabilities, and increase confidence. When students have an opportunity to share what they've learned, they are tapping into their creativity while seeing the results of their practice and perseverance!
