In September, 2017, we moved to our permanent home – a beautiful 12 acre campus located along Stone Road in Westminster, Carroll County, Maryland. Our building contains eight classrooms, a commons used for lunch and large group gatherings, dedicated art, music, and STEM rooms, a study room, conference room, and a beautifully outfitted maker space. A large central atrium provides an abundance of natural light and opportunities for gathering as a whole school. It also houses our library collection, as well as a community coffee bar which is a natural gathering spot for students and parents.
Outdoors, we have a beautiful natural playscape, outfitted with traditional playground equipment such as swings and see saws, but also plenty of logs, rocks, small parts, and a popular mud kitchen, in which students can “create culinary” delights from natural materials. Two enormous metal slides make use of the landscape to give riders a thrill as they zoom down the hillside. A soccer field and gaga pit give our older students more opportunities for recreation. We are fortunate to have access to an adjacent, private pond which allows for opportunities to explore, fish, and kayak.
